For Physicians in california
What is a QME?
A Qualified Medical Evaluator is a physician who has been certified by the State of California to perform neutral examinations of injured workers, which are required when there is a dispute between the worker’s claimed injury and the employer. QMEs review the cases and help determine the course of treatment and ultimately disability rating among other factors to ensure that the injured worker receives appropriate treatment and that the employers are protected from inaccurate claims.
